This blog shares the journals of my great-grandfather Nelson Hjalmar Lindgren (b. 14 Oct 1884 Sweden d. 3 Mar 1976 E. Prov, RI). These writings give a window into a fascinating man and give the story of a remarkable life of a first generation Swedish-American. The daily entries of Nil's journals from 50 years ago will give our family a greater connection to our past.

Up at 6.30. George went to work at 4.30, but came home for breakfast. Said goodby to them and left about 8.10 and went up 651 to 50 and followed that to 13, followed that to Suffolk, where we ran into 58 again and followed that to Martinsville when we struck 220 and followed that to 11 and so up to Vias where we arrived at 4.00.
We passed a lot of tobacco fields on the way. Mary Louise came home about 4.45 and we had coffee. Sat and talked till Murray came home at 7.15.
Had a nice chicken supper.
We slept in upstairs room.
Sat and talked in Eve till 10.00.
